KEEP FRESH…MONSTER MASH & HB PRO

There’s some new stuff coming this year…keep fresh. That’s what you gotta do! We’re always thinking of new names and designs during the quieter parts of the days. Here’s a sneak peek at some new logos for 2012. The Monster Mash and the HB Pro. For any information regarding these models email info@staceysurfboards.com or go and see your local Stacey Surfboards dealer.

MONSTER MASH

With the evolution of grommet surfing, surfboards have to continually evolve with what’s happening out there right now. We’ve been working closely with up-and-coming Australian junior surfer, Kai Hing on the MONSTER MASH. Kai has been pushing his surfing to the limit and is influenced by what is happening around him.
The MONSTER MASH isn’t that far off from a WEREWOLF. It’s a great all-rounder in most conditions. Its got a flat deck, mid-boxy rails and medium rocker, making it an easy transition from a 4 EYED MONSTER or any of the small wave boards of the last few years. The MONSTER MASH is going to be all over your home beach.

HB PRO

California Dreaming…The HB PRO is a board based around one of the most high performance contests in less than average waves. It’s designed to surf well in waves that we all surf eighty percent of the time; small, mushy beach break conditions. It’s got a low entry rocker, nice and flat under your feet with a generous sweet spot, combined with a deep single to double concave and a nice kick out of the tail. The HB PRO is the performance shortboard for the everyday surfer. Even though this board is described as being a high performance surfboard, it’s way more forgiving than any other board I’ve shaped in the past (S6, Hoodlum etc…)

THE LITTLE GREEN BULLFROG…

Check out this 4’10 x 20 1/4 x 2 3/8 BULLFROG that Lee has shaped for himself – this thing has been getting a lot of attention around the place. It’s definitely going to be getting some wild looks at the beach car park! This board has an unbelievable volume of 26.71 litres. To give you a scope of size, Lee usually rides boards around 5’9 and 5’10! Check with your local Stacey dealer to find out when they’re getting theirs, or email info@staceysurfboards.com

S%IT SURFERS SAY…

If you haven’t been hiding under a rock over the last few months, then you may have seen the clips floating around YouTube with titles such as ‘Shit Girls Say’ (funny..you should check it out). This one’s basically a piss take of what surfers say – some serious ‘bro-down’ stuff happening in this. I think we’ve all got a friend in our circle like this guy…

VOLUME IS YOUR FRIEND…

The amount of volume in your surfboard is something that you should be aware of. Not only does it take a a lot of the guess work out of what you think you should be riding, but it also makes it a hell of a lot easier to work out what dimensions you should be riding in a different style of board, or if you’re just looking to change up your current dimensions. These charts should only be used as a guide, as all surfers require different aspect of performance out of their boards. All Stacey surfboards now come with the cubic litres on the stringer to make it even easier when you choose your next craft! Enjoy!

TEALE VANNER AT HOME IN SOUTH OZ…

You had waves lately? I mean, like, good ones? Well, Teale Vanner has, and these shots from South Australia make you almost forget about those big fish with big appetites cruising the coastline. Almost… Teale is riding a Werewolf model in these images. The WEREWOLF model came about from The WOLF model. It’s got a fast, neutral rocker with a large ‘sweet-spot’ to stand on. The WEREWOLF is the perfect all-rounder in conditions up to head high and a little bit over. With its flat deck, mid-boxy rails and medium rocker, The WEREWOLF is an easy transition from your WOLF or small wave board of choice. The Werewolf is going to reign supreme upon your local break. Ask your local Stacey dealer about The Werewolf!

MITCH CREWS HAS BEEN BUSY LATELY…

Relishing in the time off over the Christmas break, Stacey Teamrider, Mitch Crews has been spotted tearing up the local line-ups of his home neighbourhood. The bunch of shots of Mitchy killing it, are on one of the NEW Taxi models.

THE TAXI, with its relaxed rocker, full outline, thick rail and slight vee out of the tail for quick release out of turns is the must have board in your quiver. It surfs exactly like an everyday shortboard in less than desireable conditions, and when the waves are cooking and you can’t get there fast enough. THE TAXI will replace the fish you’ve been riding over the last few years. THE TAXI should be ridden 2-4 inches shorter than your standard board, a touch wider, but no thicker due to the increased volume through the rails.

Check out your local Stacey stockist to get one of these bad-boys under your feet!
All shots are courtesy of ASL and Andrew Shield.
